The Sphere Experience – Postcard from Earth: Reviews, Showtimes & Best seats

The Sphere Experience – Postcard from Earth is performed daily, with several showtimes from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM that fit into your Vegas trip.

Want to catch the most popular slots? Aim for 7:00 PM or 9:30 PM! These prime-time shows are always buzzing with energy.
If you’re looking for a show that’s equal parts “wow” and “How is this even real?”, then this is a must-see. Trust me, your senses will thank you!

About the show

Let me start by saying that the Sphere is not just a venue. It’s a portal.

Postcard from Earth is an immersive spectacle directed by Darren Aronofsky, but calling it a “film” doesn’t quite do it justice.
It’s a breathtaking, sensory journey that takes you from the depths of the oceans to the dawn of human civilization, all the way to a speculative future where humanity seeks refuge beyond Earth. Sounds grand, right? Trust me, it is.

Now, I’m not here to spoil the entire show for you. Partly because it’s impossible to put into words and partly because you need to see it for yourself to believe it.

What I will say is this: one moment, I was enjoying Earth’s raw beauty and the next, I was staring at the stars, wondering if I’d accidentally boarded a spaceship.

Oh, and there was a point where I was so overwhelmed that I swear I forgot how to breathe. (Pro tip: remember to exhale. You’ll need it!)

And the sound? It’s not just “crisp”; it’s alive. Every note and sound effect feels like it’s dancing around you, but somehow, it’s always hitting just the right spot. So, go ahead. Experience it. Just don’t blame me when your jaw hurts from dropping too much.

What we like

  • Incredible visuals: The immersive screen makes you feel like you’re flying over Earth or standing right next to a giraffe. It’s a 360° experience that no regular cinema or IMAX can match.
  • Amazing sound: With more than 160,000 speakers, the audio is perfectly balanced! No chest-thumping bass, just pure, immersive sound. It makes every moment feel alive without overwhelming your ears.
  • Environmental message: It’s all about how beautiful but fragile our planet is. The visuals of wildlife and nature were stunning, making me realize how important it is to take care of Earth. No preachy vibes, just a gentle reminder that we need to protect this amazing place we call home.

What we don’t like

  • Limited beverage options: The drink options were pretty limited, only Pepsi! So, if you’re a die-hard Coke fan or craving something a bit more exciting, you might be disappointed a bit (like me).
  • Accessibility challenges: If you’re driving, parking can be a bit of a hassle. The walk from nearby lots like Wynn is surprisingly long, so my advice is to wear comfy shoes.

Is the Sphere “Postcard from Earth” worth watching?

100% yes! If you’re someone who craves stunning visuals and the kind of cinema that pushes the boundaries, this is a must-see. Pictures, videos, and even my words don’t come close to capturing what it feels like to be there.

Is the show suitable for everyone?

The show may not be suitable for children under 6, pregnant women, individuals with epilepsy, or those prone to seasickness.
This is because the show has immersive elements such as seat vibrations, movement effects, flashing lights, loud noises, and atmospheric simulations (like fog, scent, and wind). These could potentially cause discomfort or adverse reactions for certain medical conditions.

If you fall into one of these categories, alternative seating options are available. You can contact the Sphere Accessibility Services Department at guestrelations@thesphere.com or 725-258-6724 to arrange for special seating accommodations.

How long is the show?

The show lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes. But trust me, I feel like it’s never enough to capture our planet’s wild yet delicate charm.

Sphere tips & tricks

Where to sit

Ticket prices can vary, so take this as a friendly heads-up rather than an exact price list. You should check the official site for current prices before making plans.

Tickets start at $83, but if you want to truly enjoy the massive LED screen without straining your neck, aim for the seats around the 200s to 400s section.

  • 200s section (205 – 207): These seats will cost you between $105 and $182.
  • 300s section (305 – 307): Expect to pay $129 to $259 here. A fantastic spot for taking in the full immersive experience. It’s my top pick!
  • 400s section (405 – 407): If you don’t mind sitting a little higher up, these seats range from $100 to $223 and still provide an amazing perspective.

I personally sat in Section 207. The view was fantastic, but I ended up next to the audio/video control team. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but the occasional click-clack of their buttons reminded me I wasn’t in a sci-fi movie.

If you’re on a tighter budget, side seats work fine, but the central sections are where the magic of the screen really hits.

Where to see the show

Postcard from Earth is performed at the Sphere, a groundbreaking venue that’s hard to miss. Here’s the full address:

255 Sands Ave, Las Vegas, Paradise, NV 89169, USA

How to get there

Getting to the Sphere is part of the adventure! Here’s how I made my way there and a few tips to make it easy for you:

  • Walk from the Strip: If you’re staying near The Venetian, take the pedestrian bridge. The path is marked, covered, and air-conditioned (a lifesaver in Vegas heat). Just follow the signs, and you’ll end up at the Plaza Entry on the east side.
  • Rideshare: Uber or Lyft is a perfect choice if walking isn’t your thing. I used Lyft, and it was smooth sailing. Just remember to confirm your pickup spot to avoid the “Where’s my car?” shuffle.
  • Driving: If you’ve got a car, parking is available, but honestly, why drive when Vegas is all about convenience? Let someone else do the work!

Can you take pictures and videos at The Sphere?

Sure, but just outside the show. Feel free to snap away in the Atrium, but during the cinematic experience, phones stay tucked away. Honestly, just enjoy the magic. I almost glued my eyes to the screen! Your socials can wait!

Some important notes before you go

Before entering the show, keep in mind that large bags, luggage, and pets are not allowed. Only small bags like clutches or fanny packs (no bigger than 6x6x2 inches) are permitted. If you’re bringing a diaper bag or medical items, those are okay too.

Also, no late entries! Make sure you’re on time! The venue can get a bit chilly, so it’s a good idea to bring a jacket or sweater to stay cozy.

Lastly, if you’re pregnant or have any health concerns, it’s best to consult with your doctor first. As I mentioned before, the show has sensory elements that could affect certain conditions.
