About the show

I’ll be honest: going to see David Copperfield was only a “maybe” list when I planned my Vegas trip.

I’d heard about his famous tricks, like making the Statue of Liberty disappear and walking through the Great Wall, but I wasn’t sure if a magic show could still amaze me. Turns out, it absolutely can.

The mix of unbelievable illusions and engaging storytelling had me hooked. Seeing huge objects appear and vanish right in front of me was surreal. Trust me, your brain will try to make sense of it and fail.

What stood out to me, besides the magic, was how personal the show felt. Copperfield doesn’t just do tricks.

He tells a story that connects everything. There’s interaction with the audience (but nothing cringe, thankfully) and moments that feel surprisingly emotional.

I won’t give away all the details because the surprise is part of the fun. However, don’t expect huge illusions like making the Statue of Liberty disappear. The tricks match the theater’s size, small enough to feel personal but still amazing.

Of course, no show is perfect. Some of the “prediction” tricks felt a bit obvious for experienced magic fans. But even so, Copperfield’s performance keeps the excitement alive and the audience entertained.

For me, the show proves that “magic is as big as the imagination,” and sometimes, not knowing how something works is part of the fun.

What we like

  • David Copperfield’s talent: Honestly, I thought that the show would have a more serious magician vibe, but nope. David was full of jokes and quick comebacks, making the whole experience feel fun and relaxed. He had this effortless charm that made it seem like you were part of an exclusive magic club.
  • Audience participation: This wasn’t some sit-back-and-watch kind of show. People were getting called on stage, and at one point, I was half hoping he’d pick me! The whole vibe felt super personal like each night could be completely different depending on who got involved.
  • Mind-blowing illusions: I’m talking about huge objects appearing right over your head – spaceships, giant things that made me blink twice, thinking, “Wait, how did that just happen?” Even if you’ve seen his tricks on TV, witnessing them up close is a whole different experience.
  • Touching storytelling: There was a surprisingly heartfelt story woven into the magic. It’s unexpected but really touching. It gave the whole show a warm, almost movie-like feel, which I never expected from a Vegas magic act.

What we don’t like

  • Too much of an alien storyline: I was expecting more of a classic magic feel, but a big part of the show focused on an alien character. It could’ve been a fun extra, but instead, it took center stage, definitely not what I expected from a magic show.
  • Predictable illusions: At one point, I found myself thinking, “Wait, I just figured that out.” And trust me, I’m not a magician or anything. When you can guess how the spaceship appears, something’s wrong.
  • Strict phone policies: Look, I know that copyright is important. But the intensity of staff swooping in on any phone movement made me feel like I was at airport security, not a Vegas show.

Is the show suitable for everyone?

Yes. The show welcomes kids, but only if they’re 5 and older. Plus, anyone under 18 needs to come with an adult. Besides, children sitting on the lap of an adult is not permitted.

Is the show worth watching?

If you’re a fan of David Copperfield or love the thrill of live magic, I’d say it’s worth catching the show. Seeing a legend perform those iconic illusions up close is something special.

Sure, the alien subplot wasn’t my favorite part and did take up more time than expected. But the creative presentation and the moments of genuine wonder made it a fun experience overall.
