Jeff Dunham only plays once per month at 8 PM in Vegas, and the dates are not the same every month (usually on Sundays).
So, if you’re a big fan of puppets, don’t miss your rare chance to have a blast in Vegas with Jeff Dunham!
About the show
Jeff Dunham is a comedian and ventriloquist who started to show his talent at the early age of 8. He’s a favorite and popular puppet show performer on TV that everybody wants to see in real life.
He uses his gifted ventriloquism to give each puppet a different voice and character. The way he kept his lips as still as a statue but still conducted super hilarious conversations astonished me.
Jeff switched between voices incredibly fast and clearly. I can hear the slow and grumpy voice of Walter, an old curmudgeon, which is totally different from the yelling sound of Achmed, a boggle-eyed skeleton. Trust me, you won’t believe that all these voices come from the same person.
It’s not the only thing that I admire about this ventriloquism master. Jeff gives his puppets real physical movement and expression. The way the skeleton Achmed waves his bony arms makes him more real than ever.

As I said, each puppet has its own character. Jeff successfully builds Peanut as a hyperactive kid, Walter as an old grumpy man, and Amched as a beloved dead terrorist with his dark jokes.
I was surprised by how this extremely funny entertainer made us laugh so hard. His jokes are all about American life but in rapid-fire dialogues between puppets. One moment, Peanut, lovable and unendingly energetic, makes a ridiculous statement, and the next, Walter answers in a deadpan manner.
And you know what? The smart thing is that Jeff knows how to time and pause for the joke to land so that we can laugh and then move to another one. People who attend his show are led into endless hilarity.
I also like the way this famed funnyman interacts with the audience. His performance is not a set routine, but he shows his talent and, at the same time, watches around.
For example, he can spot if somebody falls asleep or laughs too loud, then he uses his improv skills, lets the puppet talk to them, and turns everything into funny situations.
There are more things about this man on the stage. I’d better keep it for myself! Buy a ticket and prepare yourself to laugh until you cry!
What we like
- Amazing puppet control talent: There’s no word to describe the amazing talent of Jeff Dunham, a puppet hero. He totally rules the stand-up comedy with his hand-controlled friends. Through his hand movements, voice, and jokes, these friends come alive like real humans with their own characters.
- Increased visuality with the big screen on stage: It’s the second most thing I like about the show besides hilarious moments. I bet audiences who did not have a chance to sit closer to the stage will appreciate this stage support. The puppet’s actions would not be that much clear without the big screen.
- Offset seat: Another compliment should go to the stage set up. Thanks to the offset seat, people sitting on the row below did not bother me seeing the stage.
What we don’t like
- Too many political points of view: This matter actually depends on personal taste and interest. As for a person who is not interested in politics like me, I don’t mind the jokes, but what I see is his cleverness and sense of humor. That said, I know somebody with strong political points may not like the way Jeff Dunham presents his performance.
- Irrelevant information: Sometimes, the performer talks too much about his mom, kids, and wife. I do find it kind of funny at some moments, but I need to admit that it affects the length and quality of his show.
- Not for kids: Though children of 6 and above can join, hardly can they understand the jokes. Plus, there’s usually too much swearing (and sexual content) during the show. I personally think I will not let my kids go there before they reach their 18.

Is Jeff Dunham Worth Watching?
I would say a “yes” since I enjoyed most parts of his performance (except for the political jokes). You’ll have a chance to witness Jeff Dunham performing his talent in real life instead of behind the TV screen. However, consider whether you want to bring your young kids there.
